Role Description
Simple Mills is seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Business Systems Administrator to join our newly created Digital Supply Chain team. This critical, operations-based, role will be responsible for managing and optimizing our business-critical systems, including, but not limited to NetSuite and our EDI integration with True Commerce. The successful candidate will be a strong critical thinker and drive process improvements utilizing both existing and new technologies, enhancing operational efficiency and data management. This position will report directly to the Head of Digital Supply Chain.
Key responsibilities include:
- System Management: Oversee and manage the NetSuite ERP system, ensuring seamless integration and functionality to support business operations, while providing comprehensive support to NetSuite users throughout the organization.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement technology-driven solutions to improve supply chain processes, finance operations, and overall business efficiency.
- Technical Leadership: Use strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and suggest improvements. Will be looked at as a technical system matter expert across the organization and expected to provide input into Simple Mills’ long-term technology roadmap.
- EDI Integration: Manage and optimize the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes with True Commerce, facilitating smooth data exchange between partners.
- Master Data Ownership: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of master data across various systems, maintaining high standards of data quality and consistency.
- Documentation: Develop, improve, and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and integrations, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
- Project Ownership: Lead projects aimed at enhancing operational systems and master data processes, from conception through to successful implementation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support Supply Chain, Finance, and Accounting teams while working on longer-term projects with other functions as needed.
- Thought Leadership: Act as a thought leader, proposing innovative solutions to resolve issues and improve processes across the organization.
- Performs other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing NetSuite ERP in an administrative capacity with demonstrated ability in crucial areas including, but not limited to, advanced saved searches, analytics and reporting, integration management, script deployments and light scripting.
- Experience with EDI preferred, preferably with True Commerce or SPS Commerce.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable with technology and familiar with programming concepts (e.g., scripting, basic coding). Quick to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Experience with master data management and ensuring data integrity across multiple systems.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset. Excel proficiency strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting ideas clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and initiatives, with a track record of driving process improvements and technology adoption.
- A genuine passion for leveraging technology and systems to enhance business processes and drive operational excellence.
- Operations/CPG experience preferred
- Experience with iPaaS/Middleware preferred (e.g. Boomi, Jitterbit)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred

Compensation will be competitive for the ideal candidate. Remote working may be considered for qualified candidates from a designated location in the United States (the new hire’s permanent residence, as documented in our HR System, Rippling) if willing and able to travel regularly to the Chicago office. Sufficient internet access to support video conferencing required.
