Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a national leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to maximize the value of our storage deployments to the gird. Backed by BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic and established portfolio of over 1,400 megawatt hours of utility-scale energy storage projects operating or in construction in the U.S., with a leading pipeline of over 11,000 megawatts in active development.
Jupiter seeks to hire a highly motivated and experienced professional as its Associate, M&A. The successful candidate will support Jupiter’s M&A activities across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with management, development and origination teams to source potential acquisitions and partnership opportunities.
- Build financial models from templates and from scratch if needed, run scenario analysis, and provide data analytics to evaluate M&A opportunities and identify areas of risk and opportunity
- Lead market intelligence function on behalf of the development group, including maintaining current competitive landscape in target markets.
- Organize and lead due diligence activities for prospective transactions, including managing internal and external teams.
- Maintain day-to-day communication with counterparties on opportunity status and next steps.
- Prepare management and board materials to support regular reporting and board approval processes.
Requirements
• 2-4+ years of experience in renewable energy finance, banking, M&A, development, engineering, and/or origination functions
• Experience with infrastructure, energy storage and/or renewable energy
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams to successfully deliver complex projects
• Comfortable with ambiguity and making business decisions with limited information
• Eager to wear multiple hats depending on business need and project priorities
• High curiosity and enthusiasm to innovate and formulate new ideas
• Unafraid to take ownership and continually find ways to be effective within a highly motivated, fast-moving team
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Financial modeling, due diligence and M&A transaction experience within the power industry
• Working knowledge of RTO operations, power generation and storage technologies
• Proven creativity skills and capacity to solve problems with out-of-the-box solutions
• Knowledge of energy trading and market pricing dynamics

Benefits
Candidate should expect up to 25% travel. Compensation and benefits offered will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Location is flexible with a preference for Chicago, IL.
