Assistant Preschool Teacher

Position Summary:

Helps develop and maintain age-appropriate curriculum for children ages 2 years to 6 years. Accepts responsibility for managing and nurturing children of all ages served according to the DCFS License approved for the Preschool Center. Maintains effective parent communication skills. Serves as role model to children and prepares them for future educational opportunities. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and education experiences in support of CUMC Preschool philosophy. Strong organizational skills and planning skills.

Experience/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates support for development of CUMC Preschool’s education program with compliance of the DCFS standards. Clear understanding of hands-on, developmentally appropriate practices. Successful completion of DCFS required training, annual competencies, and skill verifications. Ability to establish effective working relationships with children, families and staff.

Requirements

Education/Training:

· Must be 18 years of age.

· High school diploma.

· At least one year of experience in an Early Childhood setting.

Licensure/Certification:

DCFS clearance/Background Check of Finger printing network.
