Shift Differentials:
- Evening Shift (3 PM – 11:30 PM) = 8%
- Night Shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) = 11%
- No Weekend Differential
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential respiratory therapy services to patients across all age groups, from infants to adults. The role requires a dedicated professional who can manage themselves effectively without close supervision and is committed to delivering high-quality care in a critical care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Deliver conventional and routine respiratory therapy treatments to patients as ordered, including oxygen administration, humidity therapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation.
- Equipment Management: Set up, monitor, and adjust respiratory equipment for patients on continuous ventilation; perform nasotracheal and tracheal suctioning.
- Patient Monitoring: Regularly round on patients to observe their condition, check and adjust equipment, and solve any arising problems.
- Documentation: Accurately chart treatments, patient responses, and progress in patient charts.
- Environmental Monitoring: Ensure proper functioning of environmental control systems and respiratory monitoring equipment.
- Collaboration: Work under the supervision of the Department Director, Day Supervisor, Evening Supervisor, or Clinical Coordinator as needed.
- Education and Explanation: Explain the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients to ensure understanding and compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Permanent license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Idaho State Board of Medicine
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the adult critical care setting within the last 5 years
- ICU experience within the last 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 3 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 1 year of hire

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
