Full Job Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst I will conduct testing on software, web applications, and other technical products to identify and resolve bugs, defects, and other potential issues. This position will partner with business users, managers, business analysts, programmers, and other stakeholders to develop and coordinate comprehensive test plans that will help to ensure the accuracy, stability, and quality of internal software systems and external web applications, performing a thorough analysis of test failures to identify trends and, ultimately, the root cause of defects.

Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute testing plans to ensure that software meets established quality standards related to the system and application functionality.
- Prepares data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows.
- Interact with internal business “customers” (e.g. stakeholders, QA team, and programmers) to understand business requirements and use cases.
- Coordinate test execution with end users/testers.
- Perform a thorough analysis of test failures to identify trends, and the root cause of defects.
- Interact with programmers to review test results.
- Provide feedback on proposed system changes based on test results and/or end-user feedback.
- Proactively and routinely inform IT Management and co-workers of testing results and status
- Provide guidance to IT project team on whether or not a release is ready for deployment to the production environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of software and web application testing, including developing and executing test plans, designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication.
- Familiarity with multi-tiered, object-oriented applications a plus. Our environment includes the following technologies:
- VB.net, ASP.net and C#
- SQL Server 2008
- Crystal Reports 10
- JIRA
- DevExpress (user interface controls)
- AutomatedQA TestComplete7 (test automation software)
- Sitting/Standing (alternatively) continuously
- Keyboard Use/Repetitive Hand motion continuously
- Skill/ability related to comprehension, organization, reasoning/decision-making, and communication appropriate to position/level
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
