Full Job Description

The Clinical Clerkship Coordinator provides administrative support service to the Clinical Affairs department in developing and monitoring the scheduling and performance of students across all regional clinical sites during years three and four of the curriculum. This position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and employ strong reasoning skills. The person in this position serves as a public relations liaison for ICOM at clinical sites. The Clinical Clerkship Coordinator is able to work independently and as a member of the clinical affairs team.

    • Represent ICOM at clinical sites and serve as an administrative support liaison between ICOM and regional clerkship coordinators.
    • Develop scheduling processes for hospital and ambulatory rotations, including training sites for required rotations and electives. 
    • Support Regional Clerkship Coordinators in the preparation of all student schedules following ICOM curriculum, policies and procedures.
    • Assist with rotation schedule information and directions to students and regional clinical preceptors.
    • Manage preceptor information while supporting credentialing of all preceptors.
    • Assist Regional Clerkship Coordinators in daily concerns of rotating students; student attendance, professionalism, assignments, quizzes and exams, evaluations and paperwork.
    • Guide Regional Clerkship Coordinators as they assist Regional Deans with logistics for various didactic programs including clinical case conferences, journal club, small group discussions, and professional development seminars and lectures.
    • Ensure consistency across all regional sites in the assembly and maintenance of all paperwork and files for Regional Dean, regional students and clinical preceptors. clinical faculty teaching skills.
    • Schedule and assist in end-of-rotation exams (COMAT) for clinical students.
    • Develop a strong understanding of the scheduling and grading softwares utilized.
    • End-of-rotation evaluation management, gathering and data entry
    • Occasional conference attendance, travel to core sites
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • None.

Requirements

    • Previous experience in medical education or a professional healthcare environment.
    • Effective working knowledge of Apple - Pages, Numbers and Keynote applications, MS Office, Google, Gmail.
    • A valid driver's license is required for regional travel.
