Full Job Description

CTI is looking for a talented Modeling and Simulation System Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work on challenging and innovative projects related to the Distributed Experimentation Environment (DE2) across various domains of warfare. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about technology, have a strong attention to detail, and are skilled in modeling and simulation system engineering.

In this role, you will work within a team of highly skilled professionals and be responsible for leading and supporting a variety of projects that encompass the Distributed Experimentation Environment (DE2) across all warfare domains systems engineering and modeling & simulation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for product design changes and the effects on the overall system.
  • Assist in documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications.
  • Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations.
  • Prepares deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met. 
  • Reviews all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures.
  • Submits engineering changes to customers for review and approval; supports records and submit reports regarding status. 
  • Support existing deployments to Kubernetes and implement more rapid and reliable deployments.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

This position is at Camp H.M. Smith in Oahu, Hawaii.

Requirements

Necessary skills and experience:

  • 5 years of experience in the use of modeling and simulation system engineering frameworks
  • Security+, GSLC, GSEC, or other DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II categories
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures, maintenance checklists, monitor all performance and functionality of classified and unclassified networks and provide accurate simulation network drawings
  • Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) and other Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) distributed simulation standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field
  • Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Beneficial skills and experience:

  • Experience defining, configuring, managing, and maintaining a complex distributed simulation environment using off the shelf Semi-Automated Forces (SAFs), customer models and interactions, and external/live integrations
  • Experience with simulation efforts for technologies associated with aircraft and ground entities
  • Experience in working in a model-based engineer distributed simulation exercises environment
  • Experience with Link16 and/or Command & Control (C2) communication,
  • Experience in containerization technologies such as, Docker
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience in Next Generation Threat System (NGTS)
