Job Title: Vice President – Distribution
Summary:
1915 South/ Ashley is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to fill the newly created role of Vice President of Distribution. This senior-level position will oversee the operations of multiple distribution centers, including our state-of-the-art, Red Hills Distribution Center facility in Thomasville, GA and facilities in Loxley, AL and Kernersville, NC. The scope of the role includes the management of our fleet of delivery vehicles, including our innovative demountable system that ensures efficient delivery to guests across our extended markets.
We are looking for a data-driven operational leader with a proven track record in distribution, logistics, and supply chain management. This role reports to the President of 1915 South/ Ashley and is based out of our corporate support office in Thomasville, GA.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies to optimize the performance and efficiency of the company's three distribution centers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
· Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations across all distribution centers, ensuring smooth workflows, effective inventory management, and adherence to operational standards.
· Fleet Management: Manage and optimize the company's owned fleet, including the demountable truck system, to ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable delivery services.
· Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage budgets for distribution operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service standards.
· Performance Metrics and Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven decision-making to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery timelines, warehouse efficiency, and fleet utilization to drive continuous improvement.
· Compliance and Safety: Ensure all distribution and fleet operations comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
· Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across multiple locations, promoting professional growth and fostering a collaborative work environment.
· Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with internal teams to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring seamless delivery experiences and resolving operational issues promptly.
· Facility Management and Optimization: Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and optimization of distribution centers, including the new $22M Thomasville facility, to meet current and future business needs.
· Innovation and Technology Integration: Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies and process improvements to enhance distribution efficiency, inventory accuracy, and delivery performance.
· Partnership: Serve as a member of the 1915 South executive team and lead the integrated business planning process to connect all retail decisions that ultimately end in the delivery of high quality home furnishings to our guests (customers).
Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science
• 15+ Years of Retail, Distribution, Logistics, Supply Chain Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ Years of Distribution Leadership Experience
