We are seeking a proactive and analytical Station Content Coordinator Intern to join our team, focusing on identifying new opportunities, enhancing our programming, and driving innovation.
Job Summary: The Station Content Coordinator Intern is responsible for developing, organizing, and managing the content that goes on air and online. This role requires a passion for Afrobeat music and culture, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with DJs, producers, and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Content Development:
o Work with DJs and hosts to create engaging and relevant content for shows.
o Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of programming. o Research and incorporate current trends in Afrobeat music and culture into station programming.
• Content Management:
o Coordinate the scheduling of all on-air content, including music, interviews, and special segments.
o Ensure all content meets the station’s quality standards and complies with broadcasting regulations.
o Manage digital content, including podcasts, playlists, and social media posts.
• Collaboration:
o Work closely with the Station Manager, DJs, and producers to plan and execute programming.
o Liaise with artists, record labels, and other external partners to source new content.
o Assist in the planning and execution of live events and promotions.
• Audience Engagement:
o Monitor listener feedback and ratings to assess the effectiveness of content.
o Implement strategies to increase audience engagement and grow the listener base.
o Develop interactive content and promotions to engage with listeners across various platforms.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in radio broadcasting, content creation, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Afrobeat music and African culture.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in audio editing software and content management systems.
• Creative thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
