Full Job Description
We are looking for an accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. You will be preparing financial statements from source departments provided by our clients. You will perform general ledger entries, reconcile bank, payroll and other accounts. You will also be required to assist with the preparation of US corporate tax returns for our business & individual clients.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting: Preparing and reviewing federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, organizations, and individuals. This involves ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and staying current with changes in tax laws.
- Tax Planning and Advisory Services: Providing strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities and maximize compliance. This may include advising on the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and changes in business structure or operations
- Research and Analysis: Conducting detailed research on complex tax issues and new tax laws to determine their impact on the organization or clients. This could involve interpreting tax code, regulations, and case law.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Working with financial data to prepare tax-related financial reports, and assisting in financial planning and analysis from a tax perspective.
- Internal Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments (like finance, legal, and operations) to provide tax insights and ensure integrated business solutions.
- Client Interaction and Management: Communicating with clients or internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, discuss tax strategies, and present findings or recommendations. This may include representing clients in tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities; as well as assisting with client write-ups
- Team Leadership and Mentoring: Supervising and mentoring junior tax staff, reviewing their work, and providing guidance and training. This may also involve managing a team of tax professionals.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving tax processes and implementing best practices within the tax department.
- Fixed Assets, AP & AR Support & Pass-through entries
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Active CPA License
- 3+ years working experience
- Fluency in English (Written and Verbal)
- Good MS Office skills, Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Accounting and Bookkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with accounting software packages: Quickbooks - Certified Pro Advisor, ADP Payroll, Ultratax
- Good communication skills with proactive, supportive and positive approach
