Heritage Werks is looking for professional archivists to join our growing team dedicated to the preservation, access and use of archives and heritage. Ideal candidates must be comfortable providing archival recommendations to clients in a consultative environment.
Archival duties may include assessments, organizing and arranging large amounts of content, descriptive cataloging, preservation, writing finding aids, creating inventories, and curating assets for digitization. Curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and attentively to meet project deadlines within a team environment is necessary.
Role Description:
Join our team as a Senior Archivist and become a vital player in unlocking the potential of historical assets for innovative applications. You will work closely with clients to strategize on leveraging their archives, not only to safeguard their heritage but also to activate them for novel purposes in today's business and sports arenas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive archival projects from assessment, content organization, to cataloging and preservation.
- Collaborate with clients to provide tailored archival recommendations that align with their strategic objectives.
- Write finding aids, draft inventories, and curate assets primed for digitization.
- Assist businesses and sports teams in repurposing their archives for marketing, brand engagement, and other contemporary applications.
- Stay engaged in a team-centric environment, ensuring efficiency, attention to detail, and meeting tight project deadlines.
Requirements
- Eloquent in verbal, written, and presentation communication.
- Self-starter attitude, performance-driven, and deadline-oriented.
- Comfortable working autonomously, yet effective in cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in technological tools such as DAMs, databases, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to envision innovative archival applications for clients.
