SUMMARY: Groundfloor is seeking an experienced Underwriter specializing in RTL (Residential Transition Loans) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in underwriting and a deep understanding of the residential transition loan market.

A DAY IN THE LIFE: 

  • Loan Assessment: Review and evaluate loan applications for residential transition loans, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough credit analysis by examining financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant financial data.
  • Risk Evaluation: Assess the risk associated with loan applications and make informed decisions based on company guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Compliance: Ensure all loan applications comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation for each loan application reviewed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide feedback on loan applications.
  • Decision Making: Approve or decline loan applications based on underwriting criteria and risk assessment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to developing more efficient underwriting procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to loan applications.

Requirements

YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underwriting residential transition loans or similar loan products.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of RTL loan products, credit analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in underwriting or credit analysis are a plus
