Job Responsibilities
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites approximately 50% of the time. Must be within one hour of an airport.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional weekends and evening hours as required
- Develop and maintain “trusted advisor” relationships with clients
- Maintain expertise with multiple network and security vendors
- Peer review designs and configurations of other team members
- Contribute to continual process improvement, including internal initiatives
- Lead network and security projects from start to finish including discovery, design, and implementation
- Develop system specifications, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation
- Develop risk management and mitigation strategy
- Provide highly technical consulting and leadership identifying and implementing systems that assist functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives
- Work on projects in a flexible manner, either individually or as part of a team
- Evaluate network performance, identify operational problems and suggest improvements to optimize the VoIP infrastructure
- Support client and provide status, progress, and results to internal and external senior management
- Create detailed network and system diagrams using tools including MS Visio and Lucidchart
- Network design, engineering, and implementation (Intermediate Level)
- Perform risk assessments and security audits, report findings, and take corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years experience working as a Network Engineer
- CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent level experience
- Must be well versed in all aspects of routing and switching for Cisco and Fortinet
- Must be well versed in designing, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting one of the following multi-vendor technologies: firewalls, phone systems, or wireless infrastructure
- Someone who always takes the initiative to make things right for the customer or situation
- Possesses experience with most common network components to include routers, switches, firewalls, protocols, VoIP, DNS, DHCP, remote access, VPN, routing, and switching
- Has knowledge of TCP/IP routing technologies including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and how to troubleshoot them
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches IOS, IOS XE, IOS XR, NX-OS
- Expert level troubleshooting in routing, switching, and firewalls
- Strong working knowledge and experience with IP routing, VLANS, QoS, troubleshooting
- Technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
- Industry certifications (Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.) is preferred
- Experience with Network analysis tools (Wireshark, Splunk, PRIME, CDNA, Solarwinds NPM/NCM, etc.)
- Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco firewall/VPN devices
- Experience with implementation and management of high availability connectivity in an enterprise production environment
- (IPv4, VPN, Multicast, QOS, DHCP, SNMP, VOIP, etc.)
- Experience with IPSec, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field or equivalent experience
