Multifamily Leasing Specialist

As a Leasing Specialist at our multi-family housing community, you will play a crucial role in ensuring continued compliance with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the recertification process for residents, verifying their eligibility for affordable housing in accordance with LIHTC guidelines. This role demands a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of LIHTC regulations and property management.

Requirements

• Conduct annual and interim recertifications for residents to determine eligibility for LIHTC program participation.

• Review resident documentation, including income, assets, and household composition, to verify compliance with LIHTC requirements.
• Ensure accurate calculation of tenant rents in accordance with LIHTC guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with residents to collect necessary documentation and information for recertifications.
• Address resident inquiries and concerns related to the recertification process with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain meticulous records of all recertification activities and documentation to demonstrate compliance with LIHTC regulations.
• Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
• Stay up to date with LIHTC program regulations and other relevant housing laws and regulations.
• Implement and adhere to all compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with property management, leasing, and maintenance teams to ensure a seamless recertification process for residents.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance your knowledge and skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus).
• Previous experience in LIHTC compliance and recertification processes is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local housing regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and maintain a professional and ethical atmosphere.
• Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Position type: Part-time

Pay rate: $20.00 per hour
