We are looking for an energetic and charismatic Morning Show Host to kickstart our listeners' days with a blend of great music, lively conversation, and engaging segments.
Job Summary: The Morning Show Host will be the voice that wakes up our audience, delivering a mix of music, news, interviews, and entertainment that resonates with our listeners. This role requires a dynamic personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with a diverse audience. The Morning Show Host will work closely with the programming team to create a show that is both entertaining and informative.
Key Responsibilities:
• On-Air Presentation:
o Host the morning show, engaging listeners with a mix of music, news, weather updates, and entertaining segments.
o Deliver content in a lively, relatable, and professional manner.
o Conduct interviews with artists, celebrities, and other guests, ensuring engaging and insightful conversations.
• Show Planning and Preparation:
o Collaborate with the Program Director and content team to plan and develop show segments.
o Prepare scripts, select music, and gather relevant news and information for each show.
o Stay updated on current events, music trends, and pop culture to provide timely and relevant content.
• Audience Engagement:
o Interact with listeners through phone calls, social media, and live events.
o Encourage listener participation and feedback, creating a sense of community and connection.
o Implement strategies to grow the morning show's audience and increase listener engagement.
• Content Creation:
o Create and produce original content, including comedy sketches, trivia games, and special features.
o Develop and execute promotional activities and contests to boost listener interaction.
o Record and produce segments for replay during other times of the day or on digital platforms.
• Technical Operation:
o Operate broadcasting equipment and software during the show.
o Troubleshoot any on-air issues and ensure smooth broadcasting.
o Work with the technical team to maintain high audio quality and address technical needs.
• Collaboration:
o Work closely with the programming, marketing, and sales teams to align show content with station goals and initiatives.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for station-wide projects and events.
o Assist in the promotion of the morning show through social media and other marketing channels.
Requirements
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a radio host or similar role, with a strong on-air presence.
• Excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills.
• Passion for Afrobeat music and African culture.
• Ability to engage and entertain a diverse audience.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in audio editing software and broadcasting equipment.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and audience engagement strategies.
• Ability to work early morning hours and maintain high energy levels throughout the show.
