Major established and international company which is a leader has an opportunity at a large and mid-volume manufacturing plant near Savannah, GA for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Position Description
Manages and oversees all activities relating to manufacturing engineering in a plant, including major projects and process improvement, tool design, and manufacturing engineering support for all new and existing product development.
Job Responsibilities
Develops and implements plans that address quality improvements and cost reductions
Develops capital and expense budgeting; develops a comprehensive department operating plan with strategies and tactics to achieve goals and objectives in a timely manner
Develops and maintains project and engineering timelines
Identifies, evaluates and presents new technical developments
Provides corporate assistance for new products, Engineering Change Order/Engineering Change Request(ECO/ECR) reviews
Prepares monthly status reports for new engine/product review
Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job Skills Requirements
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities
- Comprehensive knowledge of machining methods and assembly processes
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and AutoCAD programs
- Ability to prepare and present technical information
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills to lead teams and effectively communicate with diverse groups of people
- Working knowledge of products which may include internal combustion engines and the manufacturing environment
- Must have strong project management and leadership skills
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
- This is an SAP environment and this or other ERP experience is desired
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of technical services management experience in a high volume production environment
- Manufacturing engineering management experience in an assembly and machining environment
- Budget experience is needed
- Automotive or vehicle manufacturing related experience is a plus
