Junior Accountant

The big picture

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to join our accounting team located in Hawkinsville, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and be eager to learn and grow within the role. This position will involve assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial records and reports.

We will trust you to:

• Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare bank account reconciliations
• Assist with payroll processing and reconciliation
• Pass general ledger entries required to report an accurate set of financial reports
• Perform basic analysis of the budget to actual results based on information received from the client
• Assist with preparing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Perform adhoc reporting tasks as required

Requirements

• 0-2 years of accounting experience in a professional firm environment (internships are available)
• Fluency in English (Written and Verbal Skills)
• Good MS Office skills, especially in using Excel
• Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills with proactive, supportive, and positive approach

Advantageous:

• Experience working in the Government Sector
• Familiarity with accounting software packages (such as Quickbooks and Accounting CS)
