Slip Robotics is a cutting-edge robotics company specializing in the development of large autonomous mobile robots for loading and unloading semi-trailers. With a strong presence in the greater Atlanta area, we are continuously expanding our team of passionate engineers and designers to create innovative robotic solutions that address various logistical challenges.

As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our products, working closely with internal engineering teams and production teams to ensure the successful development of our custom robotic system.

 

Responsibilities:

As an Engineering Technician, you will:

  1. Support engineering teams with a wide variety of support tasks: circuit board bring-up and testing; troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems (board level to robot level); evaluating test and production operating procedures; designing and building custom assemblies for experimentation; and assembly and integration of mechanical and electronic components into complete systems.
  2. Become an expert on our product's electromechanical systems in furtherance of becoming a principal investigator for issue resolutions.
  3. Become the owner of robot wiring. Design, build, test, and produce technical fabrication documentation for all robot wiring. Lead the transfer of robot wiring manufacturing specifications to external cable manufacturers.
  4. Become the owner of the electrical test lab. Maintain the operational condition of the lab and its equipment by performing routine maintenance and making minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
  5. Conduct occasional basic soldering tasks for harness assembly, printed circuit board assembly repairs.
  6. Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

 

Qualifications:

As an Engineering Technician, you'll bring:

  1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field, relevant trade school education, applicable military training, or equivalent work experience.
  2. 2+ years of experience in a technician role, preferably in the mobile robotics, automation, automotive, or similar electro-mechanical industry.
  3. Experience specifying, designing, and/or building cable assemblies.
  4. Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical design principles. Basic understanding of power distribution and connectors, signal integrity, communication protocols, etc.
  5. Experience using electrical and/or mechanical CAD tools.
  6. Experience using most common electrical tools and instruments: data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, soldering tools, etc.
  7. Experience using most common mechanical tools: hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, 3D printers, etc. along with proven  fabrication experience with a strong emphasis on workmanship.
  8. Excellent problem solving skills for troubleshooting electromechanical equipment.
  9. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teams of electrical and mechanical engineers.
  10. A strong commitment to safety.
