We are revolutionizing the Construction Industry, and as we continue to grow, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our amazing, tight-knit team. This role is crucial in shaping our HR strategy, ensuring compliance, fostering employee development, and supporting our growth trajectory.
The Director of Human Resources will be one of the first HR roles in our organization, making it a critical position for our growth. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), this role is a player-coach position, requiring hands-on work across all levels of HR while also providing strategic leadership. The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to manage daily HR operations and simultaneously building a strong HR foundation that scales with our company.

Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and Legal Management:
- Ensure the company complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage all employee relations issues, including investigations and conflict resolution.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR-related issues.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and retention.
- Address and resolve employee concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
Training and Development:
- Design and implement training programs that enhance employee skills, performance, and career growth.
- Oversee leadership development and succession planning initiatives to build strong internal talent pipelines.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to benefits offerings to ensure they remain competitive and meet the needs of employees.
- Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee and personally manage the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent in a competitive market.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop effective job descriptions, recruitment strategies, and selection processes.
- Implement strategies to build a diverse workforce and support the company’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) goals.
HR Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that supports the company’s growth and long-term business objectives.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Directly handle HR operations while laying the groundwork for future HR infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and talent development.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- We are currently hiring in Atlanta, GA. While we are a remote first workplace, we want Crunchers in this location to better facilitate periodic in-person meetings, get-togethers and training.
