SCOPE Recruiting is working with a client to find an experienced Strategic Sourcing & Category Manager in Atlanta, GA.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing and procurement strategies focused on quality, cost, and delivery to support the successful launch and operations of proprietary suite elevator systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and develop sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for mechanical and electrical categories, focusing on cost reduction, on-time delivery, quality improvements, supplier performance, and supplier consolidation to support manufacturing and field operations.
  • Understand total spend, pricing structures, commercial terms, and trends for raw materials, finished products, and manufactured assemblies, with a deep knowledge of market dynamics and supply chain in electronics.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps for electrical and mechanical categories, identifying and developing new suppliers for potential savings and new product development opportunities.
  • Review electrical and mechanical assembly BOMs, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to inform strategic sourcing decisions and provide feedback on manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to address continuous supply constraints within the electronic supply chain market.
  • Manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV) containment and avoidance solutions to minimize negative P&L impact while ensuring material availability for manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor overall supplier performance within assigned categories and implement corrective actions and recovery plans as needed, in collaboration with Supplier Quality and Engineering teams.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for electrical and mechanical categories, managing current year savings and developing multi-year savings pipelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Product Line Management, Project Management, Field Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Conduct and assess RFQs/RFPs/RFIs, lead negotiations, evaluate suppliers, and select suppliers for electrical and electronics categories.
  • Support End of Life products and various workstreams by developing and executing strategies to sustain operations and revenue expectations.
  • Implement performance management processes, including KPIs, metrics, and dashboards, to ensure supplier performance and achievement of key initiatives.
  • Provide strong technical direction within electrical categories, guiding product strategy throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycles.

Who We Are Looking For:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is required; a Master’s/MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, and relevant category experience in Electrical or Mechanical domains.
  • Certifications in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or PMP are desired.
  • Expert understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, practices, and the value and use of procure-to-pay (P2P) digital platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio), SAP, Oracle, and/or Ariba.
  • Deep understanding of strategic sourcing and procurement processes and strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics supply landscapes, manufacturing, and product lifecycles.
  • Ability to work with ambiguous data and transform it into clear analysis and decision-making tools.
  • Strong negotiation experience with PCBAs, Semiconductors, Power Electronics, or related technology.
  • Experience managing component demand-supply cycles and partnering with suppliers to ensure high demand-supply alignment in volatile environments.
  • Expertise in TCO analysis to drive data-driven component and supplier selection in a product-based ecosystem.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with key suppliers and internal stakeholders on critical contracts and services in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems, Spend Data Analytics & Reporting, eSourcing, and contract management systems.
  • Proven ability to identify and develop business cases for year-over-year cost reduction pipelines through should costing, process improvement, and innovative strategies.
  • Advocacy for the Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) function within the organization to support core business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to build and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives.
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-motivated individual with the ability to think strategically and develop future state strategies for the organization.
