Full Job Description
Northstar Square is seeking a Dining Services Director for the oversight our food service program! This position is responsible for ensuring a high-quality dining experience by greeting residents and guests, and overseeing dining room staff. The Dining Services Director ensures all service staff is well trained, knowledgeable about all menus and that all dining room employees are providing a high degree of hospitality and service, in accordance with Navion Senior Solutions standards. This position manages Bussers, Servers and Utility workers.

Responsibilities
We are seeking a superstar candidate like you who will take charge and make a significant impact in this role. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving key initiatives and delivering outstanding results. Your duties will include:
- Supervise the daily operation of dining room(s), room service, and convenience store.
- Ensure room service orders are delivered timely and properly.
- Inspect side work to ensure completion and closes the dining room(s).
- Assist in producing weekly schedules with budgetary guidelines for service staff.
- Ensure an adequate number of service employees each shift and that absences are covered as to not allow holes in the coverage.
- Lead the training of all new dining room team members.
- Assist service staff during mealtime, as needed.
- Conduct required weekly/monthy/quarterly training sessions.
- Oversee resident billing of food service charges.
- Provide supervision for special functions.
- Assist in employing appropriate loss prevention procedures.
- Assist in hiring, training, and disciplinary action in accordance with Navion Senior Solutions' policies.
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related work experience and/or tranining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General/Managerial/Food service are of study,
- Entry level (0-3 years) experience.
- Previous food service experience.
- ServSafe certified, obtain any local, state, and/or county food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.
- The ability to conduct efficient and professional communication with team members.
- Entry-level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
