Job Overview:
The Controller at AMCON is a vital role that oversees the financial operations and ensures the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information. You will be responsible for oversight of the accounts payables, accounting specialist, payroll and human resource departments. This position requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior management to drive strategic financial initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The controller will help guide the company’s strategic financial decisions reporting up to the CFO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee all financial and accounting practices and functions.
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs.
- SOP, policy, & procedure development and implementation.
- Team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures reporting
- Establish, with COO, financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all divisional sectors.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Including but not limited to random and scheduled audits of workflows and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Legal and accident claim management.
- Coordinate with CPA and internal team for monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and returns.
- Collecting information for various auditing purposes.
- Serve as a backup for all accounting base positions in a time of absence or vacancy.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Foster company culture and growth.
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience with financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to mentor and develop financial team members.
Benefits
The annual base compensation range for this role is between $115,000 and $130,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications.
