Full Job Description

Rockstar is recruiting for a boutique wealth management group based in Alpharetta. The firm has been helping clients for almost two decades using their proprietary planning process. The founders of the firm have been covered extensively in both local & national media & they are now looking to grow their Alpharetta-based team.

They are seeking a skilled Controller to join their team. This integral role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's accounting and administrative functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, billing, cash flow analysis, compliance, legal, tax reporting, risk management, payroll, human resources, technology, and facilities.

The successful candidate will report directly to the owners and have opportunities to be involved in other key areas of the business, such as reviewing client tax returns and participating in analytical and process improvement work.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including budget processes, cash flow analysis, and compliance
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements
  • Ensure company processes and financial systems comply with relevant regulations
  • Manage human resources and payroll functions
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for financial management and reporting
  • Review and improve financial systems and processes
  • Liaise with external compliance consultants and auditors
  • Monitor financial status and performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Provide insightful information to aid executive decision-making
  • Stay current with technological advances and accounting software

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting functions, budget processes, and cash flow analysis
  • Strong understanding of compliance regulations and procedures
  • Experience in financial reporting and statement preparation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
  • Experience in payroll management
  • Ability to create comprehensive reports
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on driving results
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA
