Banquet Director – Large Convention Hotel in the Southern U.S.

Location: Southern United States | Qualified individuals will be given disclosure of location and property
Compensation: $110k - $130k+ base, 20% Bonus, Relocation, Full Benefits, and Temporary Housing provided.A premier convention hotel in the South, featuring over 40,000 square feet of meeting space, 600+ rooms, and 4+ food and beverage outlets, is seeking an experienced Banquet Director. This confidential search is for an established professional with a minimum of 4-6 years of Banquet Director experience and a proven track record of stability in career progression.

Position Summary
The Banquet Director will oversee all banquet event operations, ensuring superior guest service, optimal performance, and maximum profitability. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of quality, service, and operations in alignment with brand guidelines. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all relevant health, safety, and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the banquet department, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of all functions.
- Communicate objectives clearly to the team, schedule and assign work, and enforce policies and procedures.
- Manage staffing decisions including hiring, training, and taking disciplinary actions as necessary in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure banquet setups and service delivery meet guest expectations as per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Inspect function rooms, table and bar setups, and ensure everything is in line with guest specifications.
- Conduct pre-function meetings with staff to review pertinent details of each event, including coordinating with the kitchen team to ensure timely food delivery and menu accuracy.
- Ensure all audio-visual (AV) and technical needs are coordinated properly with internal or external providers.
- Personally greet guests upon arrival at events, respond to guest inquiries and complaints, and ensure prompt service recovery actions for a seamless experience.
- Maintain inventory control, safeguarding banquet equipment and supplies, while implementing measures to minimize waste and loss.
- Ensure financial compliance, such as securing signed guest checks and reviewing final bills with clients.
