Established company with a large part of the U.S. market share in what they manufacture located in southwest suburban Atlanta has an opportunity for an Automation / Robotics Technician in a plant environment due to growth with robotic installations for the assembly process. This day shift opportunity is from a minimum of 8:00am – 4:30pm. There is the potential of up to 10 hours paid OT in a week which is paid at time and ½. The benefit package includes an attractive 401K with a 100% match to 5%. There is a generous bonus potential depending upon performance. Relocation assistance is also available. The manufacturing environment includes die casting, stamping, and the assembly process. They utilize Fanuc, ABB, and UR robots. There are Allen Bradley PLCs present as well. This is likely a Level III role since wanting at least 5 years of experience.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Automation/Robotics Technician will participate in the cell design, end of arm tooling, and fixture design, along with the installation of automated equipment. The role is a mix of mechanical, electrical, and facilities support. The technician is responsible for assisting in configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting robots, as well as other automated systems used in production. Their primary goal is to increase the efficiency and prolong the life of robotic and other automated equipment by performing the following duties:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.") General and other duties as assigned.
- Pneumatics: Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
- Hydraulic: Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits containing the following components, check valves, accumulators, cylinders, flow controls, directional control valves, pressure control valves.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer.
- Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors.
- Use knowledge of all fabrication equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
- Operating the equipment or overseeing the operation of robotics equipment.
- Analyzing and categorizing events within the equipment.
- Working closely with engineers and production team to help achieve a desired output.
- Conducting preventative maintenance, such as routine upgrades and inspections.
- Repairing robotic machines, systems, and tools as needed.
- Disassembling (or re-assembling) robots to repair or replace defective parts.
- Training others to install, use, and service robots.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Technical training certificates or associate degree, six to eight years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts.
