Position Overview:

Liberation Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Academics to join our team in College Park, GA. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator and leader, committed to the academic excellence and holistic development of our students. As the Associate Director of Academics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience, ensuring high academic standards, and supporting teachers and students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's curriculum.
  • Ensure alignment with state standards and educational best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in curriculum design and delivery.

2. Instructional Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and support to faculty in the development of instructional strategies and practices.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize and lead professional development programs for teachers.

3. Student Achievement and Assessment:

  • Monitor and analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' academic growth and achievement.
  • Oversee the administration of state and school-wide assessments.

4. Faculty Support and Development:

  • Mentor and support teachers in their professional growth.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning and professional learning communities.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of faculty members.

5. Academic Programs and Initiatives:

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative academic programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate technology and other resources into the learning environment.
  • Coordinate extracurricular and enrichment programs that support academic goals.

6. Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Foster strong relationships with parents and the community to support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about academic programs, student progress, and school initiatives.
  • Represent the school at community events and meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
  • At least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and educational technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use it to drive academic improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a charter school or similar educational setting.
  • Proven track record of improving student achievement and supporting teacher development.
  • Experience teaching/coaching problem-based learning/inquiry-based learning/project-based learning
  • Certification as a TKES evaluator, a plus
  • Strong knowledge of LEA academic requirements, a plus
  • Proven experience in instructional leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of GA state standards, a plus

Liberation Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package

  • The salary range for this role is $75,000-$113,444. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
