At Sankofa, the Assistant coordinator of operations is a key member of the operations team, ensuring that campus operations meet high standards of operational excellence so that instructional leaders and staff can focus on driving student achievement outcomes. The position reports to the Associate Director of Operations.
Start Date: July 2024
Hours: 7:15-4:15; Role is 201 working days. Paid throughout all school breaks.
Requirements
Role Summary and Information
- Administrative Support:
- Serve as point person for Aftercare Staff
- Facility Support:
- Coordinate and oversee the maintenance of school facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
- Assist facility-related projects, repairs, and renovations.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in organizing and coordinating school events, meetings, and conferences.
- Collaborate with staff to plan and execute events efficiently.
- Budget Support:
- Assist in developing and managing the school budget.
- Monitor and track expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Student Services:
- Coordinate student services, including transportation, lunch programs, and health services.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Data Management:
- Maintain and organize school records, databases, and other relevant documentation.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Communication:
- Facilitate communication between various stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and administrative staff.
- Ensure timely and effective communication channels.
- Emergency Response:
- Assist in executing emergency response plans and protocols.
- Ensure staff and students are familiar with safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
For this position, we’re looking for candidates who possess a combination of the following skills:
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor's degree, a plus
- Willing to serve all children, regardless of background or needs, in an inclusive and supportive setting
- Skills in administrative practices and office management for student and staff achievement
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Warm and firm demeanor
- Work collaboratively with a growth mindset. Give and receive feedback in a spirit of craftsmanship.
- Strong learning orientation and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Can complete physical demands of the role (including standing and walking for extended periods of time and lifting heavy objects up to 40 Ibs)
- Unwavering commitment to Sankofa Montessori’s mission and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of Sankofa Montessori students, families, and staff
- Successful background check results required

COMPENSATION
- Sankofa Montessori’s compensation philosophy is to pay competitively for the PK-12 charter market to ensure equity across our institution. The starting salary for this role is $35,000-$40,000 annually, based on years of experience and degree held. Sankofa Montessori is committed to internal pay equity throughout our organization. Because of this, we do not negotiate salary offers outside our salary bands.
- We offer contributions to the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) in accordance with Georgia state law, as well as an additional, optional 403(b) retirement account.
