Job Summary

DBA Afterschool Community combines the safe, reliable weekday afternoon childcare families need with the FUN, enriching, camp-style experience kids want.

Program Goals: Our After School Program aims to:

• Provide enriching and fun activities for elementary school participants.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Offer educational and recreational activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and special events.

Program Objectives

• Foster self-confidence and accomplishment.
• Encourage social skills development.
• Provide opportunities for physical activity.

Days and Hours 

Monday-Thursday: 3:00-6:15 PM and Friday: 12:00-6:15PM. Partial week roles are available.

Monday-Thursday:

• 3:30 - 4:00 PM: Homework Help and Academic Support
• 4:00 - 4:30 PM: Snack Time and Socialization
• 4:30 - 5:00 PM: Physical Activities (Outdoor play, sports, dance)
• 5:00 - 5:30 PM: Themed Enrichment (STEM projects, cooking classes, cultural activities)
• 5:30 - 6:00 PM: Creative Activities (Arts and crafts, music, drama)

Friday:

• 1:30 - 2:00 PM Physical Activities (Outdoor play, sports, dance)
• 2:00 - 2:30 PM Snack Time and Socialization
• 2:30 - 3:30 PM Themed Enrichment 1 (STEM projects, cooking classes, cultural activities)
• 3:30 - 4:30 PM: Creative Activities 1 (Arts and crafts, music, drama)
• 4:30 - 5:30 PM: Themed Enrichment 2 (STEM projects, cooking classes, cultural activities)
• 5:30 - 6:00 PM: Fun Friday (Group games, talent shows, movie time)

Responsibilities

As an Afterschool teacher you will:

• Welcome students upon arrival, provide homework support, and supervise playground time.
• Create and facilitate art projects, music activities, and games that reinforce specific learning goals.
• Complete tasks under the direction of the Afterschool Director. Among them:
• Document lesson plans
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and collaborative teacher planning meetings
• Prepare the classroom daily to welcome students

Requirements

Afterschool teachers are not required to have a formal teaching certification. Our most successful teachers:

• Enjoy working with kids in K – 4th grade
• Have experience as camp counselors, tutors, or classroom teachers

Compensation:

Our before and after care staff will be compensated at $16/hour.
