Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers of Bonita Springs, FL is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Therapy team and make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners. We are a leading veterinary hospital committed to providing exceptional care and treatment to pets in our community. As a Veterinary Technician in our Radiation Therapy department you will play a critical role in delivering radiation treatment to pets with various types of cancer. You will provide compassionate care and support throughout the treatment process. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and veterinary professionals to provide top-notch care to pets diagnosed with cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for radiation therapy procedures that integrate with computer softwares
  • Prepare patients by inserting intravenous catheters, administering induction agents, performing intubation, providing general anesthesia, and delivery of radiation therapy treatments
  • Perform patient positioning and immobilization during radiation therapy sessions
  • Administer medications and monitor patients during treatment
  • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping of treatment plans and patient progress
  • Provide comfort and support to patients and their owners during treatment
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the radiation therapy area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT or LVT) preferred
  • Experience working in a veterinary radiation therapy setting highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and equipment
  • Proficient in performing intravenous catheter placement, blood draws, intubation, and monitoring during general anesthesia
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
