Fetch Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking an experienced triage veterinary technician to join our emergency team in Brandon, FL
This is a daytime position from 9am-7pm in Emergency Triage.
As a privately-owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital, we offer advanced and specialized veterinary services to our guests and referring veterinarians. Our team of veterinary professionals provide compassionate care and exceptional guest service to our patients and guests alike. The Emergency Triage Vet Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to pets in critically emergent situations. With the support of our experienced team you will have the opportunity to utilize and expand your skills and knowledge while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We are one of the only facilities in the area that has mechanical ventilator, dialysis, and therapeutic plasma exchange capabilities. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn the most advanced therapies and practice the highest standard medicine.
A Triage veterinary technician plays a critical role in emergency veterinary care, focusing on the initial assessment and prioritization of patients based on the severity of their condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, required
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT), preferred
- Previous experience in specialty and/or emergency veterinary medicine, preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medical protocols and procedures
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Flexibility with working schedule, including availability for on-call, weekend shifts and holidays.
