Full Job Description
Among the responsibilities assigned to this candidate are, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish and cultivate relationships within a matrixed environment.
- Provide recommendations and support for the development and hosting of intricate application solutions.
- Comprehend, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure or alternative cloud services.
- Understand, deploy, and manage Microsoft Power Platform.
- Identify opportunities to refactor solutions to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Improve FDOT’s infrastructure, applications, and system monitoring solutions to prioritize system availability.
- Evaluate, advise, and design solutions considering risks, costs, benefits, and impacts on enterprise business processes and objectives.
- Automate processes wherever feasible.
- Create and oversee Azure DevOps projects, Git repositories, and pipelines.
- Manage and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- Assist in resolving issues raised by developers and other architects.
- Share findings on new technologies, enterprise-level challenges, and enhancements made to advance the FDOT mission during presentations to peers.
The desired knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
- Strong analytical skills for assessing organizational needs, formulating strategies to address those needs, and evaluating effectiveness.
- Capability to categorize tasks, establish priorities, and outline short-term and/or long-term goals along with strategies for achieving them.
- Effectiveness in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues across various technology platforms.
- Aptitude for documenting and automating administrative tasks to minimize manual work.
- Ability to effectively communicate knowledge to others.
- Proficiency in navigating a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic business environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure Services.
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Server products.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform.
- Thorough understanding of Linux (both Redhat and Ubuntu).
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and application development technologies and architectures.
- Solid grasp of Linux administration, including Linux patching.
- Familiarity with assessment and analytical processes and practices.
- Skills in strategic planning.
- Ability to research, compile, and analyze data to present findings and develop improvement strategies.
- Competency in system administration and hosting across a diverse range of solutions.
- Capacity to research, identify, and implement innovative solutions.
Requirements
- 2 – 3 years of strong professional experience as a Microsoft Azure cloud systems architect is required.
- 2 – 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as AWS or GCP is highly desired.
- 5 - 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or another related field is required.
- 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
- 2 - 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another related field
- 4 years of experience can substitute for education
This role requires onsite attendance.
