Maverc is looking for a System Administrator.
Primary Job Responsibilities: The Ideal candidate is proficient within a LINUX (Red Hat). The candidate will have 6+ years of experience in systems administration, along with knowledge of physical infrastructure and hardware such as Dell PowerEdge M/R servers. This candidate will provide LINUX support of around 400 servers. We are looking for an effective communicator and a problem-solving individual with attention to detail. Responsibility will encompass operational support of the LINUX estate, system maintenance (OS patching).
- System tunings to application specific requirements. Systems standardization and automation.
- Keeping the UNIX environment compliant with the technology roadmap, such as OS & hardware upgrades, 3rd party software upgrades.
- Work on incident tickets and resolve in a timely manner.
- Remediate Secunia OS vulnerabilities as required by regular security audits.
- Perform quarterly patching of RedHat to ensure systems are compliant and pass strict PCI security requirements as dictated by regular audits from security team.
- Interface with IT and business clients at all levels of the organization.
- Rotating on-call Unix/Linux support in a 24X7 environment.
- Documentation of work.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions that meet business needs
Requirements
- Experience with RHEL Linux 8/7 administration/patch management.
- Experience with Linux Server builds and custom configurations.
- Experience with performance tuning of Oracle database servers.
- Experience with Server Security vulnerability management.
- Experience SolarWinds monitoring.
- Experience Ansible tower management and upgrades.
- Experience VMware operational knowledge.
- Experience with automation
- Experience performing Server migrations skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Strong skills in TCP/IP networking, network topology and firewall environments.
- The ability to work completely independently or with a team
- Very detail-oriented in planning, implementing, documenting, and following up
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player attitude with experience working in a collaborative environment
- The ability to multi-task and work across a range of projects and issues with various timelines and priorities

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
