Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Substation Project Manager to oversee and manage our substation construction projects from inception to completion.

Job Overview:

    • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to meet project goals.
    • Coordinate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications.
    • Manage relationships and ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Handle client requests and maintain strong client satisfaction.
    • Implement and enforce quality assurance and safety programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and company regulations.
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure all safety protocols and quality standards are upheld.
    • Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
    • Address issues that may impact project timelines, costs, or overall success.
    • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to accommodate changes or unexpected challenges.
    • Monitor project expenses, ensuring expenditures remain within budgetary limits.
    • Provide regular financial reports, forecasts, and updates to senior management.
    • Ensure cost-saving measures are considered without compromising project quality.
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure teams meet performance expectations.
    • Encourage continuous improvement and skill development within the project teams.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency in project performance and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing substation or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, substations, and power distribution networks
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards, compliance regulations, and industry practices.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
