Position Summary:

- Compensation: $40-45/hour
- Travel/Location: Onsite in Bradenton, FL - Local candidates preferred
Mission of Role/Position Summary:
The Substantial Damage Assessment Data Processor is responsible for collecting, recording, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy of damage assessment data collected during disaster recovery operations. This position plays a critical role in coordinating data processing activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing timely and actionable insights to support recovery efforts.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Data Management and Processing
- Collect, validate, and enter substantial damage data into relevant software systems (e.g., FEMA's Substantial Damage Estimator [SDE]).
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable guidelines.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular quality checks on collected data to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information.
- Implement quality control measures to enhance the reliability of damage estimates and reports.
Reporting and Communication
- Generate detailed damage assessment reports for use by local, state, and federal agencies.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on data processing progress, challenges, and outcomes.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation required for disaster recovery funding applications.
Technical Expertise
- Maintain proficiency in damage assessment tools and software, including GIS systems and databases.
- Stay updated on federal regulations and policies related to substantial damage determinations (e.g., NFIP guidelines).
Emergency Response Support
- Support disaster response operations as needed, including participating in field assessments.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment during disaster events.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Work schedule may include 12-hour days up to 7 days a week. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is onsite with minimal local travel expected. However, all positions with the company must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
- Mobility around sites, climbing, lifting/carrying, bending, kneeling, crouching.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time. Driving from site to site.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Working Environment:
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
- The role may require work during non-traditional hours, particularly after natural disasters, to meet urgent community needs.
Requirements
Experience/Education Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of computer data entry/management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with property owners, government officials, and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large amounts of data.
Experience/Education Preferred:
- 1+ years of experience with FEMA Substantial Damage Estimate program.
- 1+ years of experience with Crisis Track software.
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field is preferred. Years of experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis, in addition to the minimum requirements.
- Two or more years of experience in building inspections, damage assessments, or related fields, with a solid understanding of construction techniques and materials.
- Certification in floodplain management (CFM) or related certification.
- Prior experience working in disaster recovery operations.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and property record systems.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
