- Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary
- Compensation: $20-$45/hour depending on role/experience
- Travel/Location: Must be able to be on-site daily at designated facility- exact location will be determined at point of offer
Mission of Role/Position Summary:
The Shelter Support Staff members will provide oversight, coordination and administrative support for shelter operations. The Shelter Support Staff will demonstrate high empathy and work with appropriate parties and staff to accomplish established objectives. This role will be critical in meeting the needs of the operation and population it serves. This position requires excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Provide services as assigned to accomplish assigned objectives to support shelter guests, facilities and resource coordination.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisor and lead positions may have responsibilities overseeing shelter staff workers as assigned depending on role.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends. Dependability and punctuality are paramount. Schedule may require 12-hour workdays 7 days/week for initial response period.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Working Environment:
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings
Requirements
Experience/Education Required:
- Minimum one year administrative support experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of customer experience
- Leadership/supervisor experience required for management roles
- Experience working or volunteering in a Shelter. Emergency management experience is a plus.
- Experience in a dynamic environment in which priorities often shift quickly.
Experience/Education Preferred:
- A bachelors' degree in emergency management, or social/human services is preferred. Years of experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis, in addition to the minimum requirements.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (or other language commonly spoken at the shelter) preferred.
- Experience emergency management/shelter support experience for the role of interest.
- Emergency Management/Shelter Operations experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
