Job Description: Our client a structural engineering firm, is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer with experience in commercial structural engineering for employment. Alongside our team, this individual will perform the structural design and detailing of primarily commercial building structures such as hotels, hospitals, condominiums, military facilities, churches, stadiums, multi-family housing, etc. In addition to designing structures, this individual will be completing construction documents using Autodesk Revit. We are seeking an individual with a variety of structural design experience including concrete, steel and timber facilities. Structural field observations and/or inspection experience is desired, but is not required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Structural design of commercial building structures.
- Production of construction documents utilizing Autodesk Revit.
- Production of Specifications using Masterspec and Specintact.
- Management of design projects from beginning to end.
- Preparation of calculations, including calculation packets that will be submitted to the government.
- Supervise work of other junior engineers and help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
- Work alongside other staff in the office to create a family atmosphere that is encouraging and uplifting.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in structural engineering, including heavy experience in the design of commercial structures.
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering License, preferably in the state of Florida.
- License Structural Engineer is desired, but not required.
- (3) years minimum experience modelling and detailing structural construction documents in Autodesk Revit.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Previous experience working in a team environment.
- Experience setting schedules and meeting client timelines.
- (3) years minimum experience working directly with clients.
- Proficient in the use of Structural Engineering computer analysis software (RAM, Tekla, Etabs, RISA, or SAP)
- Proficient working in Microsoft Word and Excel.
