TITLE: ROUTE MANAGER- TRANSPORTATIONQUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Bay County Area.
- High School graduate, 2 years of college or technical training preferred.
- Minimum of three years of bus driving experience.
- Must possess a Commercial Driver License.
- Ability to communicate with various school personnel, bus drivers and transportation personnel.
- Demonstrates ability to take firm and decisive action when a situation requires intervention.
- Ability to coordinate such items as extra-curricular trips in and out of county, bus schedules, schedule changes and bus stops. Able to establish and adjust multiple priorities in accordance with competing demands.
- Ability to supervise large groups of employees.
- Ability to work independently from the Director of Transportation.
- Efficient letter writing, excellent interpersonal skills and communication techniques.

Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds or occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or upto 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Heavy Work: Exeñing up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation
SUPERVISES: As assigned by Bay District Organizational Structure.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directs all activities related to routing and routing systems. Reads and updates all documents relating to the routing program (manuals, updates, maps, etc.).
2. Meets all deadlines relating to schedules set up for the routing process.
3. Coordinates with Dispatch to establish route standards for times and miles.
4. Demonstrates good verbal communication skills to provide effective advice and interpretation that are readily understandable.
5. Produces and maintains a master record of all routes and provides operating copies to the Dispatch Supervisor daily.
6. Possesses the ability to structure cost efficient and timely routes.
7. Produces and maintains a written a written record of problems related to the routing program on a daily basis with clean copies given to the Director of Transportation.
8. Completes Accident Reports and investigations (county-wide).
9. Prepares and follows up on discipline reports.
10. Works directly with customers, parents and employees when necessary.
11. Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
12. Assigns extra-curricular trips in assigned district.
13. Prepares daily inspection reports.
14. Performs bus driver evaluations.
15. Plans and coordinates all inservice training for bus drivers (to include first aid classes).
16. Processes and records FEFP Transportation Survey Reports.
17. Investigates complaints from public and employees, provide customer service skills to provide excellence in customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
18. Maintains a professional appearance.
19. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Successful completion of State and Federal Background check is required for employment.
- Twelve (12) months. Paygrade as established by the School Board.
Performance evaluated annually in accordance with School Board Policy.
