Full Job Description

‘Tween Water Resort and Spa on beautiful Captiva Island is now hiring experienced Host staff. We are looking for friendly, courteous and reliable people with excellent customer relation skills to join our dynamic team. Successful candidates will have the ability to remain calm and professional at all times in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Open Table software and basic POS knowledge a huge plus!

Job Description:

  • Must enjoy interacting in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ensure the timely greeting of guests
  • Answer phones in a polite and professional manner
  • Accurately make reservations and take orders for take-out dining
  • Work closely with front and back of house managers to direct and control the overall flow of the restaurant
  • Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance
  • Contribute to a positive team environment

Experience:

  • Guest Services: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Food Service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Host/hostess: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person


Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests and providing them with information about the menu and restaurant’s operations.
  • Managing reservations and waiting lists to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
  • Escorting guests to tables and coordinating with food and beverage staff for timely service.
  • Engaging with customers to ensure customer service and satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness, stocking of supplies and proper presentation of the restaurant.
  • Coordinate with other departments within the company, including kitchen staff, waitstaff, and management to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with customer-facing jobs is desirable.
  • Possess a warm and engaging personality, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as the business requires.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and individuals to achieve common goals.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite for record-keeping purposes.
