Full Job Description

The RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Tasks and responsibilities include assessing plans and evaluates patient care needs.

  • Ensure patient health care records are maintained and accurate
  • Administer medications to patients based on conditions and symptoms
  • Order clinical and medical diagnostic exams and tests
  • Take patient vital signs
  • Record patient medical history
  • Evaluate and manage patient care plans
  • Work with other nurses and medical professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance
  • Take vital signs and start IVs for patients 
  • Interpret diagnostic exams and tests to identify patient conditions
  • Supervise the work of licensed practical nurses, nursing aides and assistants 
  • Guarantee patient confidentiality is respected and kept intact
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment
  • Ensure all medical equipment used is up-to-date and functions properly
  • Document all actions and any irregularities so that other nursing teams are aware of the current state of the patient
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients

Requirements

Required Job Qualifications include:

· Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.

· Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.

· One year of RN experience preferred

· Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

· Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.

· Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
