Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for accurately analyzing project blueprints, determining the necessary materials and labor for plumbing projects, and preparing cost estimates. This role is essential for helping our company secure profitable projects while maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plumbing systems, excellent communication skills, and experience in estimation and project planning.
Job Description - Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements and expectations.
- Prepare accurate and competitive plumbing cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Identify and estimate the materials, equipment, and labor required to complete each project.
- Research and analyze historical data on previous plumbing projects to improve future estimation accuracy.
- Prepare bid packages and submit competitive proposals in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for upcoming projects.
- Monitor and adjust estimates based on project changes, including scope or timeline adjustments.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to obtain the best pricing and quality for materials and subcontracted work.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support estimates and project planning.
- Attend site visits as needed to gather relevant information for accurate estimating.
- Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Estimator, Cost Estimator, or similar role in the construction or plumbing industry.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, codes, and industry standards.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Plumbing certification or experience as a journeyman plumber is a plus.
Benefits
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a salaried position commensurate with experience, with a range of $65,000-$85,000 base and full benefits package including medical, vision and dental insurance, paid time off, and holidays. Bonuses are available based on margin and awarded jobs.
