Full Job Description
Motion Musculoskeletal Institute (currently in stealth mode) is building the next generation of MSK care and is on a mission to create a new gold standard for musculoskeletal care that delivers outstanding patient outcomes and experience, that is scalable and standardized, and that aligns the incentives of payers, PCPs, and specialists
The current system forces patients to navigate a frustrating maze of provider types, treatment options and insurance hoops - a confusing mess that leads to frustration, wasted dollars, misdiagnosis and mistreatment
Our goal is to radically improve the way that musculoskeletal issues are cared for within the broader context of the US healthcare ecosystem and we are looking for clinicians who are dedicated to high-quality, evidence-based medicine, interested in new models of care, and excited about utilization of high-value technology to be a part of our journey.
This position is a Senior Member of the on-the-ground-care team to deliver outstanding medical care to patients.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, and behavioral health professionals to deliver pain management for patients with musculoskeletal issues
- Manage opiates and other controlled substances for patients enrolled in Motion's Pain Management Program
- Perform image guided pain procedures in an ambulatory setting
- Collaborate with clinical providers and ancillary staff to provide effective, evidence based care
- Collaborate with partner PCPs, Specialists, Surgeons, and Physical Therapists to provide exceptional, value-based care
- Help to define and refine Motion’s Clinical Model
- Partner with Motion’s Chief Medical Officer in defining structured care pathways and protocols for conservative MSK care.
- Partner with Motions’s Head of Product to create a delightful and effective patient experience
- Partner with Motion’s Head of Clinical Operations to ensure efficient handling of patients across care settings

- Have completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine or Anesthesia, Interventional Pain or similar
- Have practiced for at least 5 years
- Are philosophically aligned with our model of evidence-based musculoskeletal care
- Believe that more care is not always better care and the rush to surgery, imaging, and drugs ultimately hurts many patients
- Want to work in a collaborative care team environment with other physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and health coaches
- Are a flexible and collaborative colleague who is interested in helping to refine our care model
- Have had relevant work experience
- Practiced within a musculoskeletal or other multidisciplinary practice
- Collaborated with other care providers to develop care programs
- Implemented new clinical technology at the point of care
