Full Job Description
CDR Health Care Inc. is seeking Medical Assistants within the Tallahassee, FL area. This role will be responsible for maintaining exam rooms and preparing all supplies for day-to-day duties. Support healthcare providers by assisting with certain exams, procedures, and tasks. The medical assistant may assist with inventory, clerical, and/or other delegated tasks as needed and approved by the supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Conducting patient intake, documenting comprehensive medical history, and recording vital signs.
- Conducting necessary laboratory tests, including procedures such as venipuncture and urine collection.
- Performing EKGs, verifying the use of controlled substances ensuring proper preparation and dosage of medications as required by the provider.
- Maintaining a clean work environment for both staff and patients, including the thorough sterilization of equipment.
- Handling medical correspondence, including contacting patients for results or scheduling return visits as directed by providers.
- Maintaining patient Electronic Health Record (EHR) with meticulous documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilizing specialized portals to retrieve requested lab work or/and specified radiology results for patients, as requested by providers.
- Effectively communicate patient concerns or changes to the healthcare provider.
- Assisting with general office tasks such as faxing, scanning documents, and filing records.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED.
- Current Florida MA Certification in good standing.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Recent clinical experience within 6 months.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
- The ability to make decisions and handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to deal with high-pressure situations.
- The ability to lift 40 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and wear PPE for extended time without restriction.
- Understanding and acceptance that the job has inherent risk of exposure to COVID positive patients.
- Full compliance with all CDC and company regulations.
