SUMMARY: The Manager, Internal Systems is responsible for ensuring the streamlined operation
of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization; planning,
coordinating, directing and designing IT-related activities of the organization, as well as providing
administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department; working
closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement
and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization; defining and
implementing IT policies, procedures and best practices
Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the Internal Systems department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
· Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of various systems including PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and Office Automation equipment.
· Benchmarks, analyzes, reports, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the Internal Systems team and functions it supports.
· Oversees provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
· Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
· Keeps current with the latest technologies.
· Manages financial aspects of the Internal Systems department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
· Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for Internal Systems spending and initiatives.
· Approves and oversees IS projects and project portfolio.
· Develops and implements applicable policies.
· Practices asset management for IS hardware, software, and equipment.
· Manages Internal Systems department staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
· Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Directly supervises employees within the Internal Systems department.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Computer skills required: (HelpDesk Software; Microsoft Intune, Windows and Apple Support; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems; Project Management Software)
· Other skills required:
o Bachelor’s degree.
o 7-10 years of related work experience.
o 3+ years leading a team
o Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
