Full Job Description
The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to the Case Manager and other team members in a variety of administrative and legal tasks. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Client Interaction: Assist with answering phones and addressing client inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Provide updates and ensure clients are kept informed about their cases.
- Case File Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring that all relevant documents are filed correctly and up-to-date.
- Medical Record Coordination: Assist in the process of ordering medical records from providers, and ensure that records are received in a timely manner. Follow up with medical providers as necessary to secure records.
- Data Entry and Case Tracking: Input case details and other relevant information into the firm's Aderant case management system. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case information within the system.
- Insurance Notification: Draft and send initial notice letters to insurance companies in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements.
- General Office Support: Provide general administrative support, including handling correspondence, and performing other tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be proactive, able to take initiative, and work independently while also being a team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software, preferably Aderant.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
