About us: Golden Lighting, a nationally recognized brand, is a growing company of about 40 employees specializing in the design and manufacture of residential lighting products. We are a privately held company (not a publicly traded one), which means we make business decisions that benefit our employees and customers instead of focusing on increasing the share value of outside investors. We are also not a start-up company that could close shop if the next round of venture capital doesn't come through. One of our core values is being innovative within our industry, and we are constantly researching new product trends, more streamlined ways of operating, and new technologies to develop. As Golden Lighting is in an exciting growth phase, we are searching for a knowledgeable Junior Corporate Accountant who will dig in and make our accounting processes more efficient.
About this position: The Junior Corporate Accountant will ensure compliance with accounting regulations, maintain clean financial records, identify financial risks, and assist with analytics that support informed decision-making.
This position requires a blend of technical accounting skills, analytical thinking, and leadership abilities to effectively contribute to financial operations and overall company success. If you have a solid foundation in public accounting but are interested in pivoting into corporate accounting, we are open to having you learn additional skills in this new environment.
We think you'll succeed and be a good fit for this position if you:
- Have an interest in accounting for startups or companies undergoing significant growth/change
- Like collaborating across different departments to meet business goals
- Enjoy digging into why certain accounting processes are being done and finding more effective methods of doing things
- Are naturally curious and intuitive, and use those traits to approach solving problems from all angles
- Enjoy a balance between "boots on the ground" work and learning high level analytical tasks
- Are comfortable summarizing your findings and recommendations to Directors and stakeholders
- Have strong integrity and an unwavering commitment to lawful accounting practices
