About the role
Diverse Computing, Inc. is looking for a highly driven Project Manager to join our dedicated team. Project Managers at DCI are, above all else, leaders. The focus of this position is to work closely with our clients to fully understand and support their business processes. The right candidate will effectively lead others in translating information into clear system requirements and inspiring project stakeholders to develop and execute a clear plan. This role requires the ability to understand and organize complex processes, as well as leading by example through attention to detail, decisive problem solving, and unwavering customer service. We believe our project management team should be one step ahead, proactively knowing the right questions to ask and loyally acting in the best interest of our clients as well as our project teams’ success.
What you'll do
As a DCI Project Manager, you will:
- Be ultimately responsible for all phases of projects of a highly complex nature. This may include projects involving multiple project work streams and being a managerial point of contact for clients and team members alike, while tracking progress and ensuring accurate analysis of requirements and processes
- Regularly lead and attend meetings with clients and other project stakeholders / team members
- Actively manage, coordinate, and support a project team that investigates and gathers business system requirements from project stakeholders utilizing: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and business process descriptions that will be used by the development team to build solutions
- Work closely with clients and members of the project team, including project managers, developers, business analysts, quality assurance analysts, trainers, and other cross-functional team members to create and maintain project schedules
- Set priorities and expectations for project stakeholders
- Actively manage and support the project management team’s quality standards and initiatives
- Engage with project teams to ensure that deliverables have been tested for adherence to defined expectations, design specifications, and performance standards; assuring coordination of technical resources and confirmation that issues have been resolved before final delivery
- Identify, anticipate, and plan ahead for resource needs to complete projects on time and within budget
- Conduct project lessons-learned sessions and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Requirements
Qualifications
This job might be for you, if you:
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Communication Technology, Computer Science, or a similar degree/graduate program (relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute for educational requirements)
- Have a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in an IT / software development project management, product management, or other related IT role
- Have a PMP Certification
- Have a strong understanding of information technology, database management, and software development concepts
- Have a deep understanding of the SDLC from conception to delivery
- Have an outstanding command of the English language, both written and verbal, along with non-verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Are experienced with JIRA and Confluence
- Are knowledgeable with Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Have knowledge of the public safety or criminal justice industry (desirable, but not required)
- Currently reside in one of these states: CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA
- Can confidently pass a rigorous fingerprint background check
- Do not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position
