Interact with potential customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products, and services. Confer with customers by telephone or internet to provide information, or obtain details of projects to assist with the selection of the correct piece of equipment. Customer inquiries are of a technical nature and require familiarization with all models. Supports the outside sales team or may be assigned to a specific outside Sales Representative covering a specific product or region.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Receive calls from potential customers with the ability to answer basic questions and collect appropriate information to assist potential customers with product selection.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Maintain assigned customers while developing new leads.
  • Explain to customers how specific types of equipment will help promote their services.
  • Process correspondence and paperwork related to accounts.
  • Provide assistance with proposals and quotes; enter information in company CRM (salesforce.com).
  • Ensure that appropriate follow up is being conducted to maintain all leads.
  • Obtain all relevant information to assess validity of sales opportunities and elevate the opportunity to the appropriate sales person.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Other duties as needed to meet sales requirements.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or 3+ years of Sales experience in lieu of a degree
  • At least 2 years Administrative Experience
  • At least 2 years of Phone Sales Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience using a Customer Relationship Management system; SalesForce experience a plus.
  • Must be skilled in operation of computers and capable of creating reports and analyzing data.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Must be advanced user of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Capable of talking and simultaneously entering notes in Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to speak other languages a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility – this position does not have supervisory obligations

Work Environment - this job operates in a sales office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work - this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel – this position may require travel from time to time.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications – must pass a background check and drug test.
