Full Job Description
The Industrial General Foreman oversees the successful implementation of electrical projects, including managing materials, labor, and equipment for Stryker's jobs throughout the Sarasota, Tampa, and Naples areas and travels between these locations regularly. This role necessitates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure project completion within budget and schedule while upholding high-quality standards.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Cultivate superior relationships with clients and suppliers to position the company as the preferred electrical contractor.
- Review project scopes and determine required labor and resources.
- Work with the project team to prepare construction quantity takeoff material lists and oversee procurement.
- Review design options and recommend optimal construction solutions.
- Create job-specific installation and layout drawings prior to construction.
- Manage project-related issues and facilitate communication among team members.
- Provide guidance and support to field personnel for project execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Conduct regular project walks for quality control, productivity validation, and technician training.
- Assist in scheduling labor and procuring materials, tools, and equipment.
- Complete job inspections and other assigned initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Level 2 approval of all field labor to minimize/eliminate unapplied time and ensure correct labor coding for each job.
- Identify and train potential General Foremen for future growth/advancement.
- Build jobs in a professional manner to facilitate future opportunities.
- Display safety documentation as required and fulfill health and safety requirements for managers and supervisors.
- Proficiency in company-utilized software including but not limited to Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a similar role.
- Past managerial and leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
License/Certification
Preferred:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Texas Journeyman or Master Electrical License
- OHSA 30
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Professional communication skills with team members, clients, and contractors.
- Expert in the field of electrical systems and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents to include but not limited to plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and submittals.
- Experience with tenant finish-outs and ground-up experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of local codes and requirements and construction processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications to ensure fully functioning systems.
- Proficiency in problem-solving.
- Complete understanding of Industry Standard Installation Means and Methods.
