We are seeking a Data First Head of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts with a focus on data-driven decision-making, strategic execution, and comprehensive collaboration across key functions.
Position Summary: As the Data-First Head of Marketing, you will drive the strategic development and tactical execution of our marketing initiatives. You will blend deep analytical expertise with creative marketing acumen to enhance performance across all campaigns. This role will require close collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Creative to create and execute cohesive, data-informed marketing strategies that align with our overarching business objectives and creative vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning:
- Develop Marketing Strategy: Design and implement a data-driven marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and drives growth for both partner brands and internal incubated brands.
- Set KPIs & Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing activities and establish robust measurement frameworks to track progress and success.
- Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across campaigns and channels to maximize ROI.
- Campaign Planning: Create detailed campaign plans that outline objectives, target audiences, channels, creative assets, timelines, and budget allocations.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead the synchronization of marketing strategies with sales, product development, and customer service to ensure a unified approach.
Performance Marketing:
- Channel Management: Oversee performance across all digital marketing channels, including PPC, SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, affiliate marketing, and programmatic advertising.
- Optimization & Testing: Implement A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other optimization techniques to enhance campaign performance and conversion rates.
- Attribution & Analytics: Develop and refine attribution models to accurately measure the impact of each marketing channel and activity on overall performance.
- Automation & Personalization: Leverage marketing automation tools to streamline workflows, improve personalization, and increase customer engagement and retention.
Data-Driven Insights:
- Analytics Frameworks: Establish comprehensive analytics frameworks for data collection, reporting, and actionable insights generation.
- Customer Segmentation: Use advanced analytics to develop detailed customer segmentation and personas, guiding targeted marketing efforts.
- Predictive Modeling: Apply predictive analytics to forecast campaign outcomes, customer behavior, and market trends, informing strategic adjustments.
- Real-Time Reporting: Create and manage dashboards that provide real-time insights into campaign performance, enabling quick adjustments and decision-making.
Brand Incubation:
- Brand Development: Work closely with internal teams to launch and grow new brands, utilizing data to guide decisions on brand positioning, product features, and market entry strategies.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market plans for incubated brands, focusing on market research, competitive analysis, and launch execution.
- Feedback Loops: Establish mechanisms for gathering market feedback and customer insights to refine brand strategies and improve product offerings.
Collaborative Strategy Development:
- Partnership with CSO: Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer to integrate marketing strategies into the broader company strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Creative Integration: Work with the Head of Creative to fuse data-driven insights with creative concepts, resulting in compelling marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Strategic Sessions: Lead regular strategy sessions with key stakeholders to align on goals, share insights, and refine marketing approaches.
Team Development & Management:
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Skill Development: Identify skill gaps and provide training to enhance team capabilities in areas such as data analysis, digital marketing, and campaign management.
Performance Evaluation: Implement performance management processes to evaluate team performance, set objectives, and recognize achievements.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 8+ years in performance marketing with a proven track record of driving growth through data-driven strategies.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in digital marketing channels and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, CRM systems), data analysis, and marketing automation platforms.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong understanding of data science principles, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing marketing teams.
- Strategic Vision: Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of aligning marketing strategies with business goals.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies.
- Collaborative Spirit: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in a strategic and creative context.
