JOB SUMMARY:

At the highest level, must have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and committed effort to perform their job in an ethical and proper manner. The Finance and Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department, managing financial operations for multiple projects, ensuring accurate reporting, budget adherence, accurate client invoicing, and effective vendor payment processing. This role involves leading and training the accounting team, overseeing payroll preparation, managing general ledger reconciliations, and driving process improvements through the adoption of the latest accounting technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the supervision, mentoring, and evaluation of accounting staff to ensure accurate and efficient financial activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports and financial statements for all Health entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, while providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Analyze financial statements to identify and address potential issues, financial irregularities, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide recommendations to executive leadership and ownership regarding profit maximization and areas for improved or more efficient expense structure.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor and ensure adherence to budgets across all departments including project specific budgets, proactively addressing any variances and maintaining alignment with organizational financial strategies.
  • Prepare and coordinate the timely submission of tax returns in conjunction with CDR Health parent company financial team, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and overseeing the reconciliation of general ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Oversee the processing of vendor payments, payroll, and checks, ensuring they are completed in compliance with financial policies and procedures, and that all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Oversee and in some cases prepare accurate invoices to clients on a monthly basis and in accordance with company invoicing schedule.
  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting, and recording accounting data, while also overseeing account maintenance and reconciling books of accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly as well as other standard accounting monthly closing procedures.
  • Generate detailed financial reports and provide regular updates and strategic insights to management to support informed decision-making and guide financial planning.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the organization.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience.
  • Proven experience working as an accounting supervisor for a minimum of 1-2 years.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or upgraded version of the system, Deltek Vantage software is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to accurately process large amounts of numerical data.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Decisive and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Availability for late afternoon and evening hours, overtime, and weekends as needed for safety emergencies or incidents.
  • Willingness to travel at least 20% across the U.S. by plane or car.
  • Valid, active, and clear driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise, coaching ability, and passion for the role.
  • Effective in partnering and collaborating to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes with internal and external partners.
